I perform at schools in a number of different ways.
Fund Raising
A show specifically geared towards raising funds for the school. The target audience is parents of pupils and old boys of the school. It can easily be combined with other fund raising activities such as raffles and an auction.
Magic Show
This is a show for the pupils at the school. It is straight entertainment but very different magic from what they have seen before (which would almost certainly be the traditional children’s magician). Perfect as an end of term event or special treat to everybody.
Magic Related Talk
This is a talk on magic that covers such aspects as a brief history, why magic is a great hobby to take up, how to get started in magic, about The Magic Circle – but also plenty of tricks to keep everybody thoroughly entertained.
Please contact me direct if any of the above are of interest.
I also perform talks to lower and upper sixth formers about how I made the transition from accountant to magician. This is called My Curious Career and is a fun talk with a mixture of sound career advice coupled with lots of magic tricks!
If you are interested in My Curious Career talk, then please contact Alex Corkran at Springback, who also books a number of other excellent school speakers. Alex can be contacted directly at Springback, Speakers for Schools. Or phone her on 07790 364 784.
"A Curious Career could not have been more inspirational. To combine sensible, constructive advice on university and careers with humour and the eagerly-anticipated magic tricks ensured the audience was equally informed and entertained. The boys were genuinely effusive in their praise; my only concern is that their expectations of the assemblies are now so inflated that you will be a hard act to follow!" "Ian was excellent. The boys and girls thoroughly enjoyed it - as our head of 6th form said, it was the perfect talk for the end of term. We will gladly have him back in the future.” “Just a quick note to say thank you for providing the entertainment last week. Your act was well paced and well judged for the audience, and those present, including myself, had a great time. We are still talking about the various things you managed to do, and I am delighted that you were recommended to us.” “Ian’s talk went very well, the pupils found the talk both informative and entertaining!” Comments
