Ian does a number of talks which are suitable for schools and pupils aged between 8 and 18. His most popular talk for senior students is A Curious Career, an illustrated talk with magic tricks covering his change in career from accountant to professional magician. Other talks suitable for older pupils are one on Charles Dickens as an amateur magician and linking that to A Christmas Carol (The Magic of A Christmas Carol) and on the development of cartoons from the 18th century to the present day (Birth of Cartoons).
For younger pupils (although this has also proved very popular with sixth formers as well!) there is a history of magic talk, copiously illustrated with baffling magic tricks (Magic Through the Ages).
